The intention to establish Darunsikalai School

Since 1997, the Lighthouse Project, Suksaphat Foundation has adopted the principle Constructionism of Prof. Seymour Papert, The Media Lab of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. Applied to those who are interested in learning reform in different areas of Thailand, it was found that many of the trainees are eager to adopt the approach. Constructionism to try it out in their school but cannot be extended in schools This is because there are limitations that prevent the adoption of such an approach in school education reform, such as the problem of adjusting school schedules to have longer, more consecutive sessions for project work. Problems linking various subjects, problems on how to assess projects, etc. And most importantly, the mindset of most teachers and administrators cannot be changed.

The Lighthouse Project Management, Suksapattana Foundation (by Khun Phan Isarasena Na Ayudhya and Mr. Bangkok Chaokhwanyuen) came up with the idea that We must have a school that provides teaching and learning in accordance with the principles. Constructionism with a clear pattern as an example is to produce good learners. There must be at least one group of students that the school uses a pedagogical approach. Constructionism completely starting from elementary school and going deep until the end of secondary school for this group of students will receive a deep and continuous educational experience in this style until it becomes an innovation in learning new which is consistent with the National Education Act in all respects therefore initiated the establishment of Darunsikkhalai School as a pilot school project since the beginning of 2001 with support and cooperation between the Thaicom Foundation, Suksapattana Foundation, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi and The Media Lab of MIT
